So couponing is only effective if you have multiple coupons, many people say "oh you can't get anything good with a coupon" Well get that thought out of your head! You only get name brand items with coupons, companies send coupons to promote new items!
When Jessica and I first started couponing we were hearing from all the blogs to buy multiple Sunday papers so that you can get all the coupons, and that a subscription would pay for itself, and they recommend that you get as many papers as members in your family. I looked into it was going to cost somewhere around $130.00 for 4 papers every Sunday for 6 months, not terribly priced right? considering. a Sunday RJ costs $3.00 I was really wanting to "extreme coupon" but just wasn't sure I wanted to commit to that. A few days later, I was talking to Jessica and she was all excited and said "Guess What? you will never guess how many inserts my Mom just got and where she got them!" she continued on and said She got 25 inserts from an Apartment complex garbage that is strictly mail by the outside mailboxes! and from that day forward we faithfully go "Dumpster Diving" every single week.
So Thanks Mama Cindy! :)
THE THREE INSERTS
We highly suggest the Dumpster Diving method,
just swallow your pride and take a dive! It will save you the most money.
We dive at Apartments but you can also do Post Offices
When do we go on our dives? We go Tuesday nights and or Wednesday nights.
What do we collect?
redplums (RP) SmartSource (SS) and Proctor and Gambles (P&G's)
RP and SS come out every week unless it's a Holiday week and P&G comes out once a month on the 1st Sunday of the month.
You can also ask neighbors, family, or friends or even the sweet little old ladies that sit all in a row in relief society to save you theirs.
But for the more rural areas like Moapa Valley ; ) or people that don't have access to the city all the time, you might want to look into getting the newspapers. For the Las Vegas readers, there is this company Grocery Smarts and they have a contract through the Review Journal to get multiple papers at a discounted rate. OUR COUPONS
Jessica and I will offer Free coupons, but will charge a small fee for our time to gather, sort, clip and ship. You can find most them underneath deals that we post.
PRINTABLE COUPONS
Printable coupons are great, but are even better if you have access to multiple computers. When you print a coupon from your computer it puts a "cookie" on your computer and only allows for that coupon to print twice. Luckily Jess and I have access to 2 computers so we can get 4 of whatever hot coupon comes available.
this is what they look like fresh off the printer
These are what we use the most:
coupons.com
smartsource.com
redplum.com
Target
(Target has a lot of coupons that we print, but they are only valid at Target. Jessica will get into that more later)
The Printable Coupon Database is the absolute best when it comes to
just seeing what all is out there, (as far as coupons go)
they have everything listed alphabetically, and it's so easy to use!
This is our favorite website!
When you are going to print a coupon always make sure that your printer is on and plugged into your computer. Also make sure it always has paper and never low on ink. If you mess up on the printing process and it goes through incorrect. That's it! you won't be able to print it again. You only get two tries so you want to make sure you get them both correct. Another thing, make sure before you print that you have the right default printer set up, or if you only have one printer and there are multiple listed you should delete the others so that the computer doesn't try to send the coupons to a non existent printer. If you are going to print a lot of coupons it is suggested that you switch your printer settings to gray scale, that way you aren't wasting all that expensive color ink!
WISH I HAD THAT COUPON,
BECAUSE THIS SALE IS KRAZY!
Sometimes we don't have a certain coupon, and there is a really hot deal. So we usually just purchase it from one of the clipping services for a dollar or two and it's here within 3 days. If you are worried about it not getting there before the sale is over you can always go and try to get a rain check from the store.
Usually you can get the cheapest deals here:

DIGITAL COUPONS
Digital Coupons are coupons that you load onto your loyalty cards from your favorite grocery stores
If you don't already have your online account set up for your store, you have to set up an account using your loyalty card number, then you can load all the coupons that they offer onto your card. You then print the list of the coupons on your card, and store it in your binder. These are O.K. but we don't use them a whole lot, you can only use a "coupon" offer once and so it's not as effective as when you use printable or inserts.
Smith's, Albertson's & Vons All have loadable coupons.
Well I think that about covers it here! Lets get COUPONING!
Please feel free to ask any questions :)
